Everything goes wrong for me, thought Lolo, the snail
I was always late everywhere
he was the last to finish his homework and he never won prizes for his speed.
Very angry he said to himself: since I can’t change it, better tomorrow I won’t do anything! And he chose to stay at his house and not do the chores he had to do: like clearing the fallen leaves of the autumn trees, or removing the pebbles from the path.
He thought: “Why worry if my teammates will finish it faster? I better dedicate myself to rest”.
The little ant Juana, not seeing Lolo the snail went to look for him at her house to ask her if she had something wrong!
Lolo replied that nothing was wrong with him, simply that he was not going to do anything since it always takes a long time and the others are faster.
Juana the little ant told him – “It’s not a great idea”.. “What matters is not to do the job quickly, but what matters is to do the best you can! and help all your friends
Not everything has to be done quickly! There are tasks that require more time and effort. If you don’t try, you’ll never know what you’re capable of!
It is better to try! You might be surprised at what you’re capable of.”

Lolo the snail was not very convinced, but Juana insisted and they went together to do their homework!
At the end of the day, Lolo the snail approached Juana the turtle and said:
– “Juan you are right! It was better to have come to help all my friends and thus, among all, finish the tasks of the day!
Very good lol! That’s how it is! Always remember that small tasks also serve to achieve larger goals, and it is always better to help your friends than to stay home without having tried!
And so, Lolo the snail began to feel happier and every day, with a smile, he gave his best!

Moms and dads already have a very ingrained importance of talking to babies and young children. For that, we put words in everything we do. The great dilemma is presented to us with the genital parts
What do we have to do? Are they named? Do we omit them? Do we give them a nickname?
We have to name them and name them by name as they are not bad words.

Call them by their name, try not to embarrass us or pass them on to them; It will allow them to begin to develop a genuine relationship with their body where they can get to know and explore it more freely. That they can begin to understand that there are parts that are private, will also give them the opportunity to teach that they have special treatment.

We have the representation that it is something bad, that it should be kept secret.

Trying to break these taboos will allow our children to establish freer and healthier relationships with their bodies.

Growing up with the possibility of recognizing that there are parts of our body that generate different sensations, gradually understanding that they are part of our privacy will allow us to develop self-protective behaviors.

5 simple tips for you to keep in mind when playing:

  1. Dedicate time regularly: you need to dedicate an exclusive time every day and without interruptions to play. That time you allocate must be of quality; leave the day-to-day worries aside and give yourself 100% to the game with your child
  2. Organize toys so you can easily see, grab and put them away. Also allocate time at the end of the game, a moment dedicated to saving and ordering and that this moment is also shared.
  3. Define a space and place in the house to play. Let that space, at that moment, be for the game. And use objects and toys appropriate for your child’s age and responsiveness
  4. Make the game a moment to create stimulating opportunities that enhance learning and brain development. Challenge him to learn and incorporate new knowledge.
  5. Let him play, make mistakes and learn! Do not do things for your child or get frustrated if something does not work out and you want to correct it. Let him have fun, let him get confused, teach him to correct him and help him learn!

And always remember that the most important thing is to be able to share quality time and enjoy!

If we talk about the game in childhood, we have to understand that it is not only a recreation time, but that at this age, the game is the way in which children learn. All game experiences are those that stimulate and enhance the child’s brain.
Therefore, you have to give it time, dedication, not only physical but quality. The time we are playing, we must be connected with the children in order to provide them with the tools they need to continue learning.
By being present in time and space, we connect with their needs, with what they are saying, with the way they act… and it allows us to identify both learning and needs.
We can define 4 types of games that are important to play

  • The Imaginary Game, that of Representing or pretending to be. These types of activities help them develop the ability to retain the image of what is represented in their mind, to think abstractly and to use their imagination.
  • The musical game, both listening and singing. Strengthens neural connections. Through songs, you can learn new words to increase their vocabulary, as well as teach them names of people and objects! Constant repetition helps them fix concepts. In addition to language, listening to melodies and moving to the rhythm of music stimulates the auditory, visual and motor cortex.
  • The artistic game for its part, favors sensory experiences. Painting, drawing, creating not only stimulates fine motor skills but also thinking. When the children observe that moving a pencil or crayon on paper leaves a mark, a color is painted… they incorporate the concept of the cause/effect relationship.
  • Shared play helps them stimulate new ways of doing things. Playing alone or with others is not the same. When we play in the company of other people, we are learning to share, to listen to the other, to socialize, to take turns to play or do things, and to have a role within a dynamic.

The game contributes to the holistic development of our children. It helps them to enrich themselves with new experiences and situations that will provide them with tools to grow.

We know that play is essential for the development of children but… why?
Because through the game the child learns to relate to his peers and to explore his environment.

Through play their abilities are developed: it favors communication, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

At two years we talked about the concept of parallel game. We will see the child play alone, so he learns to concentrate, to think for himself and to regulate his emotions.
It is very common to see them talk to his imaginary friend, which will help him develop his language.

Children play side by side because they are not yet capable of interacting without adult intervention, sometimes they do not share their toys and cannot respect all the rules of the game.

And even though they play alone, they enjoy being close to each other… from time to time they watch their partner and sometimes they modify their own game by imitating the game they see others play.
